DJI Mic Mini – Small, Simple, and Budget-Friendly
I picked up the DJI Mic Mini for my trip to Thailand. I wanted something lightweight, reliable, and affordable that could handle interviews and vlogs.
And honestly? It delivered.

The DJI Mic Mini is tiny—about half the size of the DJI Mic 2. It clips easily onto your shirt and barely stands out in a shot, which is great if you don’t want a big microphone distracting from your video.

❌ Limited phone compatibility – It doesn’t work with default iPhone or Android camera apps, with the Bluetooth function, unless plugging in the receiver it comes with or something like the Blackmagic Camera App.
If you’re thinking of using it for vlogging on your phone, keep this in mind. It works great with DJI cameras like the Pocket 3, but for smartphones, it’s a bit of a hassle to attach the receiver to the phone every time.

Is the DJI Mic Mini Enough?
So far, I’ve been happy with the DJI Mic Mini, but what about the DJI Mic 2?
Well, that one has some upgrades, including internal recording, good for if you need extra security for your audio.

So, we’ve covered the DJI Mic Mini—a compact, budget-friendly wireless mic that works great for creators who need something simple and reliable.
But what if you need more features, more security, and better phone compatibility? That’s where the DJI Mic 2 comes in.
At first glance, the DJI Mic 2 looks a lot like the Mini, but the biggest difference is hidden inside.
The Key Upgrade: Internal Recording
This is the biggest reason to consider the DJI Mic 2—it has internal recording.
What does that mean? Well, if your camera stops recording, your audio is still safe because the mic itself saves a backup.
I tested this while filming an FPV drone interview, and honestly? It’s a lifesaver. Knowing I had a backup recording took away the stress of wondering ‘Is this actually recording?’

Personally, I bought the DJI Mic Mini because it fit my needs—I wanted something light, reliable, and easy to use. But if I was doing more high-stakes interviews, I’d seriously consider upgrading to the Mic 2.
